Finding the right pair of boots can be challenging. Not only do they need to be comfortable, but they must also offer protection against the cold and wet. With so many brands to choose from, it can be very difficult to know which rubber boots offer the best value for money.

Le Chameau’s recent addition, the Vierzonord Boots, is looking to shake things up. But are they really so unique, or is Le Chameau’s latest product just another basic pair of rain boots? Join us as we dive deeper and take a closer look at our Le Chameau Vierzonord boots review.

Le Chameau advertises its Vierzonord Boots as one of the most comfortable and versatile pairs of boots on the market. In fact, according to its website, the iconic Vierzonord is perfect for everyday country life thanks to its high-quality Chamolux rubber. Additionally, Le Chameau puts a lot of emphasis on the boot’s tightening strap and snap-fastening, which makes them fit snugly around the leg. Last but not least, the 3 mm layer of neoprene provides top-notch insulation against the cold.

So, in theory, Le Chameau Vierzonord Boots are a no-brainer, especially if you want a comfortable yet durable pair of boots. But let’s try them and see if Le Chameau’s boots are as good in real life as they are on paper.

How Good Are Le Chameau Vierzonord Boots

At first glance, the design of Le Chameau Vierzonord makes them stand out from other similar pairs. For starters, they feature a modern take on the classic wellington boot design, enhanced by the tightening strap. Furthermore, they are less bulky than most lined boots, which is impressive considering the thick layer of neoprene lining.

It’s clear that Le Chameau Vierzonord Boots are designed for outdoor pursuits rather than as a fashion boot for walking the streets. Their durable build and additional features more than make up for their slightly dull traditional wellington boot style.

How Comfortable are Le Chameau Vierzonord Boots

Let’s be honest — when it comes to wearing practical boots, not much is more important than comfort. Fortunately, Le Chameau’s Vierzonord Boots are some of the most comfortable boots we have ever reviewed; in fact, they are the most comfortable wellies we have ever reviewed. Firstly, their non-removable cushy insole provides an impressive amount of support. The natural rubber gives just the right amount of support while still being flexible enough to walk in complete comfort. As a result, wearing them for prolonged periods won’t cause feet to ache or get sore from rubbing.

The boots have tightening straps with snap-fastening around the gusset of the boot. Most pairs of boots can end up feeling loose, especially if you are wearing thinner socks. However, the Vierzonord boots allow you to adjust the grip on your leg, providing a snug fit throughout the day. Gone are the days of your legs flapping about in the boots. Of course, having adjustable straps also means the boots are suitable for people with wider calves.

Traction and Grip of Vierzonord Boots

Moving on, we turn the boots upside down and take a look at their treads. We are instantly impressed with Le Chameau’s design choices which seem to extend to the boot’s treads. They feature large, deep grooves which dig into soft surfaces such as sand, mud or dirt and provide a lot of traction. The heel of the boot also provides additional traction in snow and very muddy conditions by sinking down and giving additional grip.

To get the best traction out of the boots, it would be advisable to clean out the treads every now and again. They are very deep and prone to getting clogged with mud and other materials.

Water Resistance of Vierzonord Boots

When it comes to water resistance, most wellie boots provide an adequate level of protection. However, Le Chameau went above and beyond when designing its boots. Featuring an impressive shaft of almost 17 inches, the Vierzonord Boots allow you to traverse small rivers and ponds without worrying about infiltration.

Thanks to the adjustable gusset buckle at the top of the boot it is possible to prevent water from dripping down between the gap of the boots and your legs.

How Warm are Le Chameau Vierzonord Wellie Boots

Generally speaking, wellington boots are not great at providing warmth during cold winter days. This is because most boots don’t have an insulating lining. The only thing keeping your feet away from the cold is a thin layer of rubber.

However, Le Chameau Vierzonord Boots feature a high-quality 3mm layer of neoprene. The result is a comfortable boot that retains heat much better than most other insulated rubber boots.

The inner neoprene lining also allows feet to breathe as you move. As a result, you can happily use the Vierzonord Boots throughout the year, no matter the temperature.

Vierzonord Wellington Boots Review: Conclusion

Overall, we believe that Le Chameau Vierzonord Wellington boots are the most comfortable, durable and best-quality boots on the market. You’ll be hard pressed to find a better pair of rubber rain boots.

The only minor niggle we have with the boots is that they can be a little difficult getting on and off. It would have been good if Le Chameau had included a kick spur, which many of the top-end boots include these days.

If you are looking for your next pair of wellie boots (and have deep pockets), we highly recommend you check out Le Chameau Vierzonord Wellington Boots!
